Accessibility is simple with scheduled light aircraft flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport arriving at Loisaba Airstrip. From there, it’s around a one-hour road transfer to the conservancy. For those seeking added convenience, private charters can land directly at the lodge’s private airstrip.
For the more adventurous, the conservancy is accessible by 4×4, with a journey of approximately five hours from Nairobi. This flexibility allows guests to tailor their arrival experience while connecting immediately with the wild, open landscape of Laikipia.
Design and Sustainability in Harmony with Nature
Designed in collaboration with the local Samburu community, Suyian integrates traditional knowledge and conservation science to restore the land’s biodiversity while supporting local livelihoods.
The lodge’s architectural approach reflects a sensitivity to place: structures are built with natural stone and timber, blending seamlessly into rocky outcrops. Interiors are open, airy, and naturally ventilated, minimizing energy use. Power is entirely solar-generated, rainwater is harvested and waste is carefully managed to ensure minimal environmental impact.

Packing light is easy at Suyian. Each room is equipped with a selection of practical, stylish accessories, from locally carved walking sticks to lightweight wraps and straw sunhats ensuring guests can move comfortably through the landscape without compromising style or comfort.
